Belize is a wonderful country with diverse climates and some of the most wonderful beaches and water in the world.  The underpopulated country – 350,000 population is English speaking and works off a US dollar dominated economy.  The former British Honduras has a history dated all the way back to the Paleo-Indians, Maya Indians, Spanish Shipwrecked Sailors, Incas, Garifunas,Spanish Conquistadors, British Settlers, and finally Independence in 1982.

The topography of the land runs from the costal region to the 3,500 ft Mayan Mountains, some 62 miles east to west, and 174 miles north to south.  There are over 400 islands, and the major off shore attraction besides the second largest barrier reef in the world, is the Great Blue Hole, one of the best scuba diving areas in the world.  There are Jaguar Preserves, Monkeys, tubing through Caves, Mayan ruins  and every type of Resort related activities possible.  All of which I have done on a family vacation over 15 years ago. Nine years ago 2015 I went on a Permaculture/medical mission in the jungles of the Mayan mountains  Belize 2015
