In April 2016 brother Jim and I played six courses along the Trail. https://www.rtjgolf.com

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves but did not give ourselves enough time.  We played six courses in four days from the top to the bottom of Alabama.

My favorite was Muscle Shoals know for their blues – the hotel had great entertainment!  Muscle Shoals is not far from Nashville and is the home of Fame Recording Studio, which made Muscle Shoals known as “The Hit Recording Capital of the World.” Famous bands and singers, including Aretha Franklin, the Osmonds, Mac Davis, and Duane Allman, came to Muscle Shoals to record hit songs at Fame.  Elvis also hung out there.

A brief history is that in the 1980’s the Alabama Retirement system decided to make an investment in tourism in the state and teamed up with Robert Trent Jones and Marriott to build courses and resorts throughout the state.  The current Trail is 11 sites and 26 courses, both in Urban cities and Rural.

The best is that you can use the Trails concierge travel site to setup all of your golf and stays at discounted rates across the state https://www.rtjgolf.com/reservations/
