In setting up a blog for my Haiti trip, I thought that it would be a simple task to set up a blog page and just get going.  Two weeks later, this is as far as I have gotten. Buying a web site, adding WordPress for posting, adding Jetpack formatting, and setting up an e-mail site that I can send blogs from Haiti has been an improbable journey. While this blog is rough,  I am working on it.  The object is that I can blog from Haiti with my new IPad mini without running up astronomical datum charges and phone charges – even figuring out how to set up phone and data from Haiti has been fun.  Some of my  posts will be by e-mail, some will be via the internet (if available), and photos may be just posted without comment.  I am trying everything out as we go along.

The top ten reasons I am doing this blog are:

  1. I wanted to see if a senior citizen from the North Shore of Chicago could really get this far on his own.
  2. The craziness of my youth is behind me and i needed it to spice things up
  3. I am hiding from people who really want me to work
  4. I wanted to write something up about my Dad and his memorial
  5. No one really knows why I am going to Haiti
  6. I need to keep up the typing skills
  7. Once I do something out of the box – it might be hard to close it back up
  8. After 8 years – the Commercial Real Estate business still sucks – no tenants are out there  My Bluebird website needs updating but I don't have any updates
  9. After 42 years of children at home, Debbie and I are empty nesters!
  10. I thought I would try something new – Accidentally I might find something I like better than golf.
